Sirmione

Two weeks ago we went to view a couple of cars south of the Garda lake. In between appointments, we decided to visit Sirmione, a small medieval town that lies on a peninsula at the very south tip of the lake. It was very touristy, but it's easy to see why: it is an amazing spot!

The beautiful Lake Garda (this is just at the parking lot).

Approaching the historic centre of Sirmione

Joakim ran into Luigi!

There are lots of speedboats and yachts (and people with speedboats offering boat trips) - I should probably add that before you get to the historic centre, you pass one millionaire mansion after the other and numerous Ferrari's or other expensive cars.

A beautiful old castle marks the entrance to the historic centre of town.

Some impressions:

He he!

After a walk through the centre, which looks really picturesque, we followed the signs to a view point and public bathing spot.

Joakim and I followed the narrow path to the top of a sort of cliff / hill...

... to find this view :)

Later, we all walked down to the public bathing area and enjoyed the view.

Joakim played on these large rocks in the lake under my watchful eye.

We ended our visit with a pizza & spritz in the town.

"Hello, I'm mummy!"

Wat een idyllische plekjes. Ik krijg er zo'n zin in om weer naar Italiƫ te gaan. Fantastisch voor Joakim dat hij ook nog zomaar "Luigi" tegenkwam.
